The Science Behind the Habit

Feed Your Microbiome

Scientific research increasingly points to a simple principle: diversity matters. Consuming a wide variety of plant foods โ€” ideally 30 different types a week โ€” exposes your gut to a broader spectrum of fibers, polyphenols, and compounds that support a thriving microbiome.

Prebiotic Fibers

The app identifies which prebiotic fiber types each plant contains โ€” from beta-glucan in oats to inulin in garlic and pectin in apples. Different fibers feed different communities of gut bacteria.

Plant Compounds

Beyond fiber, plants are rich in polyphenols, flavonoids, carotenoids, and other bioactive compounds. 30Plants helps you see which compounds your weekly diet is actually covering.

Gut Microbes

The catalog includes associations between foods and the beneficial microbes they tend to support โ€” like Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, and Akkermansia โ€” so you can eat with intention.

Fiber and compound associations are based on general nutritional research. 30Plants does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any medical condition.

Common Questions

How does the weekly plant count work?

30Plants focuses on dietary diversity. Each distinct plant you eat counts toward your weekly goal once per week. Eating an apple on Monday gets you 1 point. Eating another apple on Tuesday is great, but it doesn't add a new unique point to your weekly diversity score.

What foods count as plants?

Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds count as 1 full plant point. Herbs, spices, coffee, tea, and extra virgin olive oil count as 0.25 points each. Refined grains and heavily processed foods generally do not count toward your diversity goal.

How do I restore my Pro purchase?

How do I manage my purchase?

You can manage App Store purchases through your iPhone Settings app. Tap your Apple ID at the top, then tap "Subscriptions" or "Purchase History".

How can I suggest a new food or feature?

We genuinely want your input. Email us at support@get30plants.com with any plant you think is missing from the catalog, a feature you'd find useful, or anything else on your mind. Every suggestion is read and considered.
